Gracienne Lauwers


Gracienne Lauwers earned a Ph.D in Law (Tilburg University – the Netherlands) and a master’s degree in Slavonic studies (KULeuven-Belgium), Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She was a fellow at the MGU (Moscow State University – Russian Studies) and Sint Petersburg State University (Law Faculty) with a 12 months research grant Lauwers earned a Ph.D in Law (Tilburg University – the Netherlands) and a master’s degree in Slavonic studies (KULeuven-Belgium), Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She was a fellow at the MGU (Moscow State University – Russian Studies) and Sint Petersburg State University (Law Faculty) with a 12 months research grant [Scholarship granted by the Flemish and Russian Government]. She then completed a six year stay in the Russian Federation combining policy work for the Flemish Government with academical tasks for university institutions, as grantholder of European TACIS and TEMPUS projects with the law faculty of the State University of St. Petersburg, and later the ERASMUS+ project EduLAw.

Lauwers was the author of the Flemish decree on inclusive education (M-decreet) for the Ministry of Education in the Flemish Community of Belgium.
