Field visits were conducted by the grant holder, her team, and project leaders to families with children and youngsters with mental disabilities in Khovd aimag. The purpose was to understand the decisions of families who chose to withdraw their children from school and provide home education, focusing on teaching essential life skills, including income generation. By exploring the challenges, struggles, and aspirations faced by these families, the team aimed to gain insight into why they opted to keep their children at home instead of sending them to school. This understanding provided valuable context for addressing the special educational needs of children with mental disabilities in the region.
